A walk with a chance to see owls
You want to peek at owls? Then the forest Nytebodaskogen is just the thing. The forest is namely known for its many owls. It is located in the wilderness just south of Lönsboda and one of the last primeval forests in southern Sweden.
You can discover more exciting things in the forest. There are, for example, giant pines and spruces that are more than 200 years old.
In 2005, the storm Gudrun, one of the biggest in Sweden, swept through Nytebodaskogen and caused much damage. Overturned tree giants with mighty trunks lie cross-over in the nature reserve and are reminders of the storm. In the case of strong winds, you should still not go into this forest.
